Access Arrangement Exam Specialist

Dovetail and Slate are seeking a dedicated professional for a prominent educational institution in Bury.

Role Overview
  • Evaluate students for exam access provisions and work alongside teaching staff to identify their learning styles and required adjustments.
  • Disseminate information among colleagues to enhance student development and aid in training related to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) strategies.
  • Oversee a limited number of Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) students, addressing their unique requirements and adapting to the dynamic needs of Further Education.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and record evaluations for exam access provisions, ensuring adherence to funding, audit standards, and JCQ/SEND regulations.
  • Articulate exam access provisions and the use of assistive technologies to students, staff, and curriculum teams, promoting autonomy and participation.
  • Supervise and evaluate high-needs learners, ensuring objectives align with EHCP outcomes and collaborate with relevant personnel to support individual learner requirements.
  • Deliver training to Educational Support Workers and staff, ensuring comprehension of assessment procedures and exam provisions.
  • Assist in the examination process and contribute to curriculum and departmental advancement, upholding exceptional standards of customer service and confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, safeguarding, and GDPR regulations, while remaining informed on professional knowledge and undertaking additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Postgraduate qualification in Assessment for Access Arrangements (or equivalent).
  • Recent experience in evaluating candidates for Access Arrangements.
  • Proven experience in guiding young individuals towards successful outcomes.
  • Ability to pass a DBS check.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
