Join Our Team as a Leisure Services Assistant

GLL is excited to announce openings for several Leisure Services Assistants to enhance our team. As a Leisure Services Assistant, you will serve as a key representative for GLL, collaborating with a larger leisure team to ensure exceptional customer service throughout the visitor experience at our facilities.

Your Role:

In this multifaceted position, you will engage in various operational services across the centre. Ideal candidates will thrive in a lively atmosphere and embrace the diverse responsibilities of the role. Your tasks may include:

  • Providing outstanding customer service and managing bookings
  • Ensuring the safety and cleanliness of facilities and equipment
  • Creating an exceptional experience for all visitors

Essential Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A relevant STA, Fitness Instructor, or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (training available if needed)
  • Experience in a busy customer-facing role
  • Familiarity with customer self-service systems and technology
  • A proven track record of enhancing customer experiences
  • Experience in coaching sports for various skill levels
  • A strong commitment to customer service
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude
  • Customer Service Qualification
  • Food Safety for Catering (Level 2)
  • Team collaboration skills

Your Responsibilities:

As a Leisure Services Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working collaboratively to ensure smooth facility operations
  • Adhering to all Normal & Emergency Operating Procedures
  • Maintaining and renewing necessary qualifications and training
  • Engaging in ongoing training and performance assessments

Customer Engagement:

Deliver a warm welcome and a sincere farewell to all visitors, assisting them in maximizing their experience through meaningful interactions. Your role will involve:

  • Guiding customers to appropriate activities and services
  • Addressing inquiries about available products
  • Confidently promoting GLL services and products

Operational Duties:

In a wet-side facility, you will oversee the safety of the swimming pool area and work proactively to prevent accidents. Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Setting up and dismantling equipment for various activities

Fitness and Coaching:

Supervise the gym and fitness areas, providing support and guidance to customers. Additionally, you will:

  • Lead fitness classes as per the schedule
  • Deliver engaging and focused lessons
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Structure:

Compensation starts at £12.00 per hour for those without relevant qualifications, with rates increasing to £14.53 per hour for qualified candidates.
