About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our dynamic team within the Community Occupational Therapy Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the assessment and treatment of children and young people with physical and developmental needs, working collaboratively with registered Occupational Therapists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Undertake specific work independently, as identified by registered Occupational Therapy staff, and accept patients referred by the Occupational Therapist, carrying a caseload.
  • Conduct assessments, treatment, and discharge planning for patients under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist, reporting back patient progress and informing Therapists of any problems.
Requirements
  • Foundation Degree in Clinical Assistant Practice or equivalent, with demonstrable experience of working with children, young people, and families or within the Occupational Therapy service.
  • A good understanding of physical disability and learning disability issues, as well as knowledge of treatment protocols, benefits, and limitations of Occupational Therapy.
