This position is for a Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical background, who will be an integral part of a supportive and collaborative team at Swiss Laundry.

The ideal candidate will possess experience with PLCs, three-phase systems, motors, inverters, switchgear, and fault diagnosis. Experience in a fast-paced consumer goods sector is preferred but not mandatory.

Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Engineering Supervisor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Take charge of the mechanical and electrical reliability of equipment by performing the following tasks:

  • Conduct effective planned maintenance inspections utilizing our proprietary maintenance software.
  • Propose enhancements to maintenance schedules.
  • Execute safety inspections on equipment in accordance with regulations and best practices.
  • Overhaul and repair machinery; continuously assess plant conditions and document defects and fault data.
  • Perform electrical and electronic repairs using a multimeter to test components and identify issues.
  • Address hydraulics and pneumatics repairs, interpreting schematic diagrams to locate faults.
  • Repair and replace valves, seals, motors, and pumps.
  • Install new machinery and relocate existing equipment within the facility.
  • Collaborate with the production team to minimize machinery downtime.
  • Ensure that critical operational information is communicated effectively to colleagues and other shifts; complete all relevant documentation promptly and accurately.

COMPENSATION, CONTRACT TYPE, AND WORK HOURS

Offering a salary of up to £45,000.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday with alternate Saturdays.
Permanent contract with an average of 42 hours per week (40/44 hours per week).
