This position is for a Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical focus, required to collaborate within a supportive and friendly team at a leading laundry facility.

The ideal candidate will possess experience with PLCs, three-phase systems, motors, inverters, switchgear, and fault diagnosis. While experience in a fast-paced consumer goods setting is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Engineering Supervisor.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Take charge of the mechanical and electrical reliability of equipment by executing the following tasks:

  • Conduct thorough planned maintenance inspections utilizing specialized maintenance software.
  • Propose enhancements to maintenance schedules.
  • Perform safety evaluations on equipment in accordance with legal standards and best practices.
  • Overhaul and repair machinery; consistently monitor equipment conditions and document defects and breakdown data.
  • Execute electrical and electronic repairs using a multimeter to assess components and identify faults.
  • Address hydraulics and pneumatics issues, employing schematic diagrams for fault identification.
  • Repair and replace valves, seals, motors, and pumps.
  • Facilitate the installation of new machinery and the relocation of existing equipment within the facility.
  • Collaborate with the production team to minimize machinery downtime.
  • Ensure key operational information is effectively communicated to colleagues and other shifts; complete all relevant documentation accurately and promptly.

COMPENSATION, CONTRACT TYPE, AND WORK HOURS

Offering a salary of up to £45,000.
Shift pattern: Monday to Friday with alternate Saturdays.
Permanent contract with an average of 42 hours per week (40/44 hours per week).

SUPERVISION

Regular one-on-one supervisions are conducted to discuss successes, challenges, development needs, and other work-related matters as they arise.
