Band 6 - Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist, 30 hours per week, Permanent Position

We are thrilled to announce an opportunity to become a part of our Specialist Lung Cancer Nursing Team as an Associate Clinical Nurse Specialist.

This position offers a unique chance to contribute to a progressive organization, playing a vital role in addressing the profound and transformative effects of a cancer diagnosis on our patients.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting patients diagnosed with cancer and their families, guiding them through the entire journey from diagnosis to treatment, survivorship, and end-of-life care. Your clinical expertise will be complemented by your commitment to providing comprehensive assessments, symptom management advice, psychological support, benefits information, and overall assistance in both clinical and ward settings. You will also collaborate closely with all healthcare professionals involved in the patients' care and manage general administrative tasks for the service. A strong partnership with treatment centers will be essential.

Candidates should have a genuine passion for Lung Cancer and palliative care, alongside proven effective communication skills.

Experience in Lung Cancer and Palliative Care is preferred, as is evidence of ongoing professional development. A background in Respiratory care will also be considered. Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of health professionals while being sensitive to the needs of patients and their families are crucial.

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN)
