About the Role

The Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Rheumatology Specialist Nurse to join our team on a 9-month fixed-term contract. As an advanced practitioner, you will work autonomously, providing expert care to patients with rheumatological conditions. Your responsibilities will include managing a caseload of patients, working collaboratively with consultants and nursing colleagues, and ensuring the delivery of excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine information to consultants, senior managers, and nursing colleagues regarding rheumatology services.
  • Work alongside internal and external colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of rheumatology services.
  • Plan, organize, and maintain a caseload of patients, including screening, treatment, and education through nurse-led clinics and helplines.
  • Work to the level of a specialist nurse practitioner, providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with rheumatological conditions.
  • Administer appropriate medications in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • Act as a patient advocate on a regular basis.
