About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Biffa Waste Services. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining a pipeline of new business opportunities to drive profitable revenue growth for our SME division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Business Development: Pro-actively and reactively sell profitable new business within a territory to meet set targets.
  • Target Achievement: Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual new business targets.
  • Sales Territory Management: Manage a sales territory and/or prospect lists for business opportunities.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Report calls, leads, quotes, and contract activity on to the Company Operating System.
  • Performance Reporting: Produce and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly personal performance reports.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Liaise regularly with Depot Manager/Regional General Manager/Regional Commercial Manager to determine roll-out sales offensives within regions.
  • Customer Interface: Be the primary interface between Biffa and target customers.
  • Sales Prospecting and Pricing Negotiations: Responsible for sales prospecting and pricing negotiations.
Requirements
  • Proven Sales Track Record: Proven track record in sales selling contracted services.
  • Target Achievement: Consistent over-achiever of targets.
  • New Business Sales: History of over-achievement in new business sales.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Articulate, confident, and assertive with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial background and awareness.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze issues and recommend and/or implement solutions.
  • Travel and Flexibility: Ability to travel and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Education and Qualifications: Business/Marketing Studies graduates would be considered if beginning their career journey.
