Job Summary:

About the Role:

A skilled Technical Claims Specialist is required to join RPC's growing team, handling complex claims made against professionals on an outsourced basis. Working closely with the Head of Claims, you will be responsible for a caseload of professional indemnity claims, ensuring a first-class claims experience for policyholders and accurate reporting to Insurers. You will investigate notifications effectively to protect the insurer and insured's position, delivering a service that guides towards the appropriate outcome. Collaborating with other team members, you will also assist in training and coaching, driving business growth and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of professional indemnity claims, making strategic decisions in Insurers' best interests, ensuring timely and cost-effective resolution.
  • Support managers in identifying training needs and delivering training to team members, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, building strong relationships with customers and suppliers, driving business growth and retention.
  • Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Implement insurers' reserving policies and manage external suppliers, ensuring seamless operations and effective risk management.
  • Investigate and identify an Insured's exposure to claims, negotiating settlements within delegated authority, minimizing financial losses.
  • Review and manage panel solicitors as an agent for Insurers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate data on the electronic case management system, providing insights for business improvement and decision-making.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in claims handling with technical knowledge, preferably in a professional indemnity or insurance environment.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office and case management systems, with experience in data analysis and reporting.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Legal qualifications such as LLB Law, ACII, CILEx, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of law firm operations and relationship management, with experience in claims handling and risk management.
  • Experience with case management systems, with a strong understanding of data analysis and reporting.
