Position Overview

Salary: £37,822

This is an exceptional opportunity to join the Offender Management Unit (OMU) at HMP Thameside, the only OMU in the nation operated by a third-sector organization since its inception in 2012. Following a recent inspection, the service was praised as "the best provision (he) had seen during the last year" by the HM Chief Inspector of Prisons.

We are in search of a motivated individual who is committed to excellence and is passionate about making a positive impact on people's lives. In this role, you will have the chance to contribute to a high-performing Offender Management Service, tasked with identifying, assessing, addressing, and mitigating risks associated with sentenced prisoners while encouraging their positive engagement within the correctional environment.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing the effective management of offenders throughout their time in custody, providing guidance to Case Managers as they handle caseloads of sentenced and remand prisoners. Under your leadership, you will ensure that the needs of offenders are assessed and addressed promptly, in line with individual requirements and performance objectives.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience:

  • Experience working with high-risk service users.
  • Proven experience in line management, supervision, and conducting appraisals.
  • A confident professional who can adapt and respond effectively to pressure and change.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with colleagues and partners to deliver exceptional service to service users.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly concerning performance metrics and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences while maintaining confidentiality.

Desirable

  • A qualification relevant to the criminal justice field.
  • Experience in a custodial setting.

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (on-site)
