Job Title: Peer Support Lead in London Prisons

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Peer Support Lead to join our team in London Prisons. As a Peer Support Lead, you will be responsible for delivering peer-led elements of service delivery, including the recruitment, training, and supervision of peer supporters and mentors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the criminal justice sector and the issues facing substance misusers. They will also have experience in developing, coordinating, and delivering training on peer support programs.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with service users, prison staff, and healthcare services to promote engagement and delivery of recovery pathways and peer support. They will also be able to motivate and encourage service users to take greater responsibility for their health and wellbeing while in custody.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver peer-led elements of service delivery
  • Recruit, train, and supervise peer supporters and mentors
  • Develop and coordinate training on peer support programs
  • Work with service users, prison staff, and healthcare services to promote engagement and delivery of recovery pathways and peer support

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the criminal justice sector
  • Knowledge of the issues facing substance misusers
  • Experience in developing, coordinating, and delivering training on peer support programs
  • Previous experience of providing a peer support service to this or a similar client group
