Position Overview

Total Recruitment Group Ltd is in search of a dedicated Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our team on a Full Time, Permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategy, planning, and execution of Continuous Improvement initiatives for our esteemed client, a prominent Engineering Manufacturer with a global presence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to establish the Continuous Improvement strategy for the organization.
  • Design and implement comprehensive Kaizen events to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate and oversee Continuous Improvement plans and events to ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are taken.
  • Monitor and sustain the results of Kaizen initiatives, addressing any issues that arise.
  • Maintain and report on action lists from Kaizen events.
  • Propose and advocate for improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical expertise in Lean methodologies and change management, including training staff on Lean practices.
  • Organize and govern Continuous Improvement reviews, ensuring they are thorough and sustainable.
  • Utilize root cause analysis to minimize defects in products and processes.
  • Analyze rework and non-conformance data using structured methodologies.
  • Implement process controls and capabilities based on empirical data.
  • Define and manage data sets relevant to operational processes.
  • Facilitate problem-solving sessions for root cause analysis within manufacturing and logistics environments.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong background in Manufacturing and Warehousing.
  • Familiarity with MRP and Just in Time principles.
  • Experience in fast-paced production settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across various functions.
  • Proficient in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Quality tools.
  • Experience leading problem-solving initiatives with diverse teams.
  • Ability to generate, maintain, and analyze data using structured approaches.
  • Project management skills to drive improvements to completion.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing systems and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal technical Engineering/Craft Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21.
  • Further education certification to HNC or equivalent in a relevant field, or a BEng in a related Engineering or Science discipline.

Preferred Skills:

  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to senior management.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with mid-to-large scale ERP systems is advantageous.

This position offers a comprehensive onboarding and induction process to ensure a smooth transition into the role.
