About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Continuous Improvement Manager to champion a Continuous Improvement mentality across our Stockport and Frome manufacturing sites.

As the successful candidate, you will collaborate with all teams within both sites to identify and share best practices, looking for improvements to increase yield or identify savings, add value through coaching and developing the culture on both sites and support plant leadership in change management and performance improvements with CI tools such as Lean thinking and 6 Sigma methodologies in line with the business Johnson Controls Management System (JCMS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and execute an improvement roadmap toward conversion cost gap reduction, assess the current state of the plant's operations and support the development of future state in correspondence with implementation planning and drive progression towards it.
  • Coach the team on CI philosophies, facilitate project teams and ensure process owner involvement in project identification and execution as well as provide leadership to the teams through goal setting, follow up and feedback and assessing and driving team members to develop them.
  • Work closely with the Plant Managers in any strategic initiative that will help in compliance to standards, implementing new systems (Such as our JCMS) and designing creative solutions to continuously improve the plant.
  • Oversee both plants in Stockport and Frome, with some travel required, approximately 25% of the time, or as deemed necessary as the role develops.

Requirements

  • Degree Level Qualification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or experience as a Lean Implementer
  • Must be able to give examples of implementing continuous improvement
  • Previous experience working in manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Black Belt
  • Degree Qualified in Engineering
  • Worked within an Operational Management or Quality Management role in past
