Job Summary

As an Educational Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the mental well-being of children and young people. You will deliver evidence-based assessments and interventions within educational settings, collaborating closely with mental health professionals and education staff to create a positive impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver impactful interventions and workshops designed for children and young people.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and implement outcome-focused interventions within educational environments, tailoring your approach to individual needs.
  • Work in partnership with senior staff to ensure appropriate referrals to specialist services when required, advocating for the best interests of each child.

Therapeutic Practice & Professional Development

  • Provide compassionate support to children and young people experiencing mental health difficulties, empowering them and their families throughout the process.
  • Develop individualized intervention plans in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring clear goals and measurable outcomes are established.
  • Continuously enhance your skills and knowledge through ongoing training and supervision, actively applying new learnings to your practice.

Essential Requirements

  • Post Graduate Diploma/Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Practice
  • Youth Mental Health First Aid trained
  • Proven experience working with anxiety and affective disorders in children and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver therapeutic interventions effectively within educational settings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with various agencies and stakeholders.
