We are excited to present a remarkable opportunity for a Lead Support Practitioner for Children to become part of a NEWLY ESTABLISHED and EXCEPTIONAL residential children's facility. In this role, you will be instrumental in providing support to young individuals aged 8-18 who have faced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).

We seek a dedicated, knowledgeable, and passionate professional who is eager to make a positive impact on the lives of young people, helping them to grow socially, emotionally, and behaviorally in a nurturing and secure environment.

Position: Lead Support Practitioner for Children

Salary: £28,208 - £30,664 (including sleep allowance)

Location: Swindon

Employment Type: Full-time - Permanent

Shift Pattern: Combination of early, late, and long shifts.

**Please note that due to the nature of this role, applicants must possess a full driver's license.**

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and assist the management team in overseeing shifts.
  • Mentor and support new staff members.
  • Encourage young people to engage in activities and take responsibility for their lives as appropriate.
  • Maintain a warm and welcoming atmosphere within the home.
  • Effectively manage challenging behaviors when necessary.
  • Safeguard the health and welfare of children and young people.
  • Support the independence and well-being of the residents.
  • Ensure a safe living environment for all young individuals.
  • Stay informed about each child's care plan, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred communication methods.
  • Provide compassionate support during challenging behaviors.
  • Foster positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Children's Support Worker or in a similar role with young people is CRUCIAL.
  • Experience in another healthcare or social care environment is CRUCIAL.
  • Level 3 NVQ in Children & Young People is CRUCIAL.
