About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dietitian to join our Nutrition and Dietetic service in Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Adults of Working Age with depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar, and Older Adults with Dementia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing, maintaining, and developing a clinical dietetic service within the trust.
  • Plan, justify, and be responsible for the delivery of specialized dietary advice to service users and their families/carers.
  • Plan, manage, and prioritize own clinical workload to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver nutrition/dietetic training for professional and support staff.
  • Participate in dietetic student training.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Degree or postgraduate diploma in Dietetics
    • Significant demonstrable post-registration experience as a Band 5 Dietitian
    • Understanding of MDT working
    • Ability to work autonomously
    • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation
    • Able to show initiative within scope of practice and evidence-based practice
    • HCPC registered Dietitian
    • Clinical experience in the following areas: Malnutrition, Diabetes, Weight Management
    • Able to manage a clinical caseload using time management and prioritization skills
  • Desirable:
    • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
    • Understanding of Mental Health in dietetics
    • Flexible and able to adapt to change
    • Ability to teach and train others in specialist area
    • Experience in Mental Health
    • Behaviour Change Training Part 1 (motivational interviewing)
    • Current UK driving license holder and access to own transport
