About the Role

We are seeking two Consultant Psychiatrists to join our Acute Hospital Liaison Service in Swindon. This is an exciting opportunity to work with our Mental Health Liaison Team (MHLT) attached to the Great Western Hospital (GWH).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic and treatment advice to patients attending GWH.
  • Support the wider team in assessing and treating patients with mental health needs.
  • Take a key clinical leadership role, with service improvement and development.
  • Contribute to teaching and training for general hospital staff.
Requirements
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register OR within six months of gaining CCT.
  • Approved clinician status OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • CCT in General Adult Psychiatry.
  • Experience of assessing and treating patients in an inpatient/community setting.
  • Leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
