Job Opportunity for a Dedicated Consultant Psychiatrist

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in a dynamic and challenging role. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing expert mental health care to patients with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of Complex Cases: You will be responsible for managing complex cases, including developing and implementing care plans, providing guidance on evidence-based treatment, and ensuring effective treatment outcomes.
  • Liaison and Collaborative Working: You will work closely with care coordinators, commissioners, families, and carers, as well as other services and agencies, to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Mental Health Act Implementation: You will be responsible for implementing the Mental Health Act and liaising with the Ministry of Justice as required.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Working: You will work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Administrative Duties: You will be responsible for ensuring all National Health Service (NHS) contractual obligations are met and that initial discharge summaries are sent out within 24 hours of discharge.
  • Professional Registration: You will maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council and adhere to professional codes of conduct.
  • Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician Status: You will maintain Section 12(2) and approved clinician status.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in Psychiatry: You will have experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Good Standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists: You will be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
  • Forensic Psychiatry Accreditation: You will be accredited or about to be accredited in Forensic psychiatry with the GMC.
  • Recent Appraisal: You will have had an appraisal/RITA within the last year.
