Position Overview

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a skilled Clinical Technical Specialist to become a vital part of our esteemed team of Scientists within the Histology Department.

Key Responsibilities

As an integral member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will collaborate with a dedicated team focused on enhancing patient health during critical times.

Role Duties

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the smooth operation of specimen reception, preparation, and slide creation areas.
  • Maintaining adequate stock levels for laboratory supplies.
  • Assisting in the training and development of new staff in specimen handling and slide preparation techniques.
  • Participating in the embedding and microtomy processes for routine histology samples.

Candidate Considerations

Individuals with foundational knowledge of histological techniques may be considered for entry-level positions, with opportunities for advancement upon successful completion of training.

Working Hours

This role typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule, from 08:30 to 17:00.
