About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Registry team as a Graduate Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and forward-thinking organization, the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT), which is committed to improving the quality of teacher and leader development across the system.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery and management of all assessment, progression, and award activity at the Institute. This will involve overseeing and monitoring all data on student assessment, progress, and award, ensuring accuracy and availability to relevant boards in line with the assessment calendar.

The role will also involve supporting quality assurance processes relating to student assessment, progression, and awards, including moderation processes. Additionally, the Graduate Manager will be responsible for managing the processing and coordination of academic appeals and concerns relating to Academic Integrity.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in student administration, particularly in exams, awards, and assessments management. They will also have a strong understanding of UK higher education regulations and quality assurance frameworks.

The successful candidate will be a strong relationship manager, with excellent communication, engagement, facilitation, and negotiation skills. They will also have knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices in handling sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and manage all assessment, progression, and award activity at the Institute.
  • Oversee and monitor all data on student assessment, progress, and award.
  • Support quality assurance processes relating to student assessment, progression, and awards.
  • Manage the processing and coordination of academic appeals.
  • Manage the processing and coordination of concerns relating to Academic Integrity.
  • Provide specialist advice and guidance to NIoT staff on rules, regulations, and policies relating to assessment and awards.
  • Support with the Registry aspects of the NIoT graduation ceremonies.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key NIoT stakeholders and relevant partners.
  • Support and implement any regulatory or process changes in partnership with faculties and departments.
  • Lead or support key projects within Registry.
Requirements
  • Significant experience in student administration, particularly in exams, awards, and assessments management.
  • Strong understanding of UK higher education regulations and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Strong relationship management skills, including communication, engagement, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices in handling sensitive information.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office software packages, such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience of using a management information system or CRM system.
  • Experience of managing, analysing, interpreting, and presenting data.
  • Experience of policy development and implementation.
  • Experience of project management.
What We Offer
  • Full-time, permanent contract.
  • Salary: £45,000 per annum (please note there is a pending pay award), plus benefits.
