Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom NHS England Full time

NHS England's National School of Healthcare Science is responsible for the End Point Assessment (EPA) service, which oversees the final evaluations of apprentices engaged in healthcare science training across various levels throughout England.

This position is integral to a dedicated team that has established a reputation for delivering assessments of exceptional quality.

The EPA Coordinator will collaborate closely with the EPA Manager, the Undergraduate/Apprenticeship Lead, and the Education and Assessment team to ensure the prompt execution of assessments and the timely communication of results for healthcare science apprentices.

The individual in this role will perform a variety of administrative tasks, including registering the details of apprentices needing assessment, coordinating with employers to schedule assessments, confirming the availability of local assessors, providing necessary resources, and processing results.

This role demands meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.

  • Manage and analyze extensive datasets that include information about apprentices, NHS and private employers, assessors, assessment outcomes, and assessment materials (such as written test questions and answers).
  • Employ effective project management techniques to ensure all components of the EPA are well-planned and executed punctually.
  • Exhibit outstanding interpersonal skills to address inquiries from apprentices, employers, and assessors, ensuring a consistently high standard of customer service.
  • Organize, oversee, and participate in various meetings, ensuring all necessary arrangements are made, documentation is prepared, and minutes are recorded as needed. Take responsibility for tracking and maintaining action logs and coordinating process evaluations where appropriate.
  • Demonstrate leadership and professionalism at all times, aligning with NHS England's values and behaviors, and adapt flexibly to support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for a diverse range of stakeholders, managing relationships effectively.
  • Participate in and lead several committees and panels.

The NHS England board has outlined a high-level mission for the new organization to guide the NHS in England in delivering high-quality services for all, which will inform detailed design work. This mission will be achieved by:

  • Empowering local systems and providers to enhance the health of their communities and reduce health disparities.
  • Creating an environment where the NHS is a desirable workplace, enabling staff to make a difference and reach their full potential.
  • Collaborating to ensure that our healthcare workforce possesses the appropriate knowledge, skills, values, and behaviors to provide accessible, compassionate care.
  • Maximizing the utilization of digital technology, research, and innovation.
  • Delivering value for money.

For additional information or inquiries, please refer to the attached Job Description and supporting documents.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

Staff recruited from outside the NHS will typically start at the lowest point of the pay band.
