About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Virtual Ward Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Virtual Ward Team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties in the community with patients admitted to a virtual ward bed.
  • Record patient observations and changes to clinical conditions.
  • Support remote monitoring of patients using digital technology.
  • Carry out limited clinical care duties.
  • Act as patient educator around accessing services in the community.
  • Provide clinical observations under the instruction of registered nursing staff.
  • Assess patient condition and comfort, making judgments on appropriate action to take.
  • Plan own work activities based on shift priorities.
  • Conduct instructed tests requiring hand-eye coordination and equipment use.
Requirements
  • Good standard of general education, including GCSE English (or equivalent qualification).
  • Vocational Qualification Level 3 or working towards, or equivalent level of experience.
  • Completed relevant short courses supporting the role, including patient and clinical care duties.
  • Knowledge of care and related procedures.
  • Experience of conducting clinical observations.
