About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our Virtual Ward Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in a community setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties, including recording patient observations and conducting limited clinical care duties.
  • Support the remote monitoring of patients using agreed digital technology and provide clinical observations under the instruction of registered nursing staff.
  • Act as the patient educator around accessing services in the community and provide support to patients with physical impairment, mental health conditions, or learning difficulties.
  • Assess the condition and comfort of patients and make judgments on the appropriate action to take to ensure patient-centered care.
  • Plan own work activities based on the priorities of the shift and conduct instructed tests that require hand-eye coordination and the use of equipment.
Requirements
  • Experience in undertaking a range of delegated clinical care duties, such as blood pressure and blood glucose monitoring.
  • Vocational Qualification Level 3 or working towards or equivalent level of experience.
  • Completed relevant short courses that support the role, including patient and clinical care duties.
  • Good standard of general education, including GCSE English (or equivalent qualification).
