Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Gray Healthcare. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with complex mental health needs, enabling them to live independently in their own homes.

About the Role:

This is a challenging yet rewarding role, requiring a high level of empathy and understanding. You will work closely with a gentleman in his 50s who has a diagnosis of Asperger's, OCD, and Psychosis, providing 2:1 support 24 hours a day. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs, ideally within a mental health setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing emotional support and encouragement to the individual, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments to ensure the individual's safety and well-being.
  • Supporting the individual with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with the individual, their family, and other professionals involved in their care.
  • Participating in regular team meetings and contributing to the development of care plans and risk assessments.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a mental health setting, ideally with individuals with complex needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with individuals, families, and professionals.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
  • Current Right to Work in the UK and a minimum of 6 months' employment history in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
