Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer II to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Problem Solving and Lean Manufacturing: Utilize problem-solving skills and lean manufacturing techniques to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Complete important documentation, including highlighting errors or bad practices and making suggestions for improvements, and ensure compliance with EHS and security policies and procedures.
  • Procurement and Inventory Management: Acquire services/components, generate and complete documentation (Purchase Orders, spares requests, quotations, etc.), and maintain awareness of and control over spares in an efficient manner.
  • Training and Development: Complete training to ensure a current aseptic license is kept up to date and assist with the organizing and delivering of training and/or instruction of engineering and non-engineering staff.
  • Coverage and Support: Provide cover for team members, including Technical Specialists and Engineering Coordinators, as defined.
Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Possess a good understanding of electrical control and automated systems, with a standard of technical skills of HND level or higher.
  • Problem-Solving and Logical Thinking: Demonstrate problem-solving and logical thinking skills, utilizing the company's lean philosophies.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
