Position Overview

RBW Consulting is seeking a skilled Automation Systems Specialist to join a prominent player in the pharmaceutical sector. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of control systems and automation solutions tailored for pharmaceutical production processes. Your collaboration with diverse teams will be essential in enhancing production efficiency while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute control systems and automation solutions for pharmaceutical production.
  • Establish and uphold automation standards and comprehensive documentation.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues related to control systems and automation equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and safety regulations.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to optimize processes.
  • Provide expert technical support for automation systems and software.
  • Develop maintenance strategies for manufacturing and packaging equipment software.
  • Implement system upgrades and modifications as necessary.
  • Stay informed on advancements in automation technology and industry standards.
  • Share knowledge with team members to enhance overall performance and understanding.
  • Create and implement operational instructions for Controls and Automation tasks.
  • Engage in the design and commissioning of new production facilities and equipment.
  • Ensure data security for programs in line with Computer System Validation (CSV) protocols.
  • Maintain a repository of optimal program settings for equipment recovery.
  • Design and develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA control system software.
  • Collaborate with external specialists to adopt best practices for machine software.
  • Formulate and execute validation protocols for control systems and automation equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with proactive maintenance strategies such as Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), and Overall Asset Care (OAC).
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving issues within control and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC/HMI systems, including Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi.
  • Proven experience in spearheading continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Background in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety Compliance.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities with stakeholders across all levels.
  • Experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing settings.
  • Capability to modify and enhance process controls.
  • Demonstrated success in driving continuous improvement projects.
