Your Role

As an Assistant Manager at Majestic, you will play a crucial role in supporting your Store Manager in driving sales performance and overseeing the daily operations of your store. Your focus will be on delivering an outstanding customer experience while optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and maintaining high operational standards. You will also mentor junior team members, helping them to thrive and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist your Store Manager in enhancing store performance and managing daily operations. Take charge of the store and team in their absence.
  • Boost store performance by capitalizing on sales opportunities. Identify key KPIs and develop strategies to improve them and surpass targets.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to foster business growth through customer loyalty and repeat business.
  • Offer a VIP concierge experience to customers, proactively updating them on products and tasting events.
  • Share your passion for our products by conducting engaging tastings and managing a successful tasting counter.
  • Contribute to the recruitment, management, and development of the team. Be a supportive resource for junior team members, providing feedback to your Store Manager as needed.
  • Encourage junior team members to enhance their product knowledge and achieve their WSET qualifications while continuously expanding your own knowledge.
  • Take pride in the store's appearance and maintenance, ensuring prompt reporting and resolution of any issues.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improvement to optimize store operations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and complete mandatory training to maintain a safe and legal environment.
  • Facilitate the communication of store, regional, and business updates.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Experience working in a team within a fast-paced, target-driven retail or hospitality setting.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and experience.
  • Understanding of retail KPIs and strategies for driving improvements.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and solve problems strategically in high-pressure situations.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • A proactive attitude with a commitment to finding solutions.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • WSET Level 2 qualification is essential, with a willingness to pursue WSET Level 3 to advance to Store Manager.
  • Possession of a full UK/EU/EEA driving license for at least 12 months with no more than 6 penalty points.
