Procurement Specialist - Category Management

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Procurement Specialist to join our team within the NHS Supply Chain. Foodbuy is a premier food procurement organization in the UK, managing over £1 billion in spend. Key Responsibilities:
As a Category Buyer within NHSSC, you will oversee the complete procurement cycle for your designated category on behalf of NHS Supply Chain: Food. Your role will involve managing supplier relationships, engaging with a variety of stakeholders, and implementing optimal sourcing processes in line with Public Contract Regulations. You will navigate all phases of the NHSSC: Food Procurement Framework, from strategy formulation and tendering to supplier management and ongoing enhancement.

Your contributions will be vital to the team's success as you develop and execute innovative category strategies that maximize NHS Supply Chain: Food's purchasing power across various markets. You will conduct market analysis to provide stakeholders with commercial insights and ensure that we meet our targets and KPIs, delivering value and savings for the NHS while fostering growth for our supplier partners through effective engagement and performance management.

You will excel in communication, building robust relationships with all stakeholders and collaborating across functions to achieve our objectives.

Location/ Equipment Requirements:
  • Full-time (5 days per week) office-based position with some travel required
