About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cancer Improvement Manager to join our team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our Clinical Work Programme, working closely with clinical and operational management teams to drive improvements in cancer services across South East London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and lead the progression and delivery of aspects of the Clinical Work Programme for one or more Tumour Groups, incorporating national priorities and local initiatives.
  • Work in partnership with clinical and operational management teams to deliver agreed priorities, ensuring safe, effective, and timely access to diagnostics and treatments across SEL.
  • Administer and deliver a programme of timely, relevant, and clinically appropriate Tumour Group meetings, working closely with the Chair[s] of the relevant SELCA Tumour Groups.
  • Share expertise, learning, and best practice with other members of the SELCA team, driving improvements in delivering sustaining performance against cancer access standards.
  • Improve the experience of cancer patients and enhance their quality of life through the promotion of excellence in clinical care, research, and education.
  • Provide quality assurance of cancer services across the system, reducing variation and ensuring compliance with best practice.
  • Support the implementation of integrated services, pathways, and new models of cancer service, promoting a sense of collective responsibility across South East London.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree or other post-graduate qualifications, or equivalent by virtue of experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development in service improvement and quality improvement, in an NHS clinical or research environment.
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Confident understanding of routine NHS data and application of data to support service improvement.
  • Proven experience and capability for clinical service management and delivery of quality improvement in NHS organisations.
  • Extensive experience of project management in delivery of change management.
  • Good knowledge of cancer pathways and cancer performance/access standards.
