We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sporting Events Manager to join our team at Prostate Cancer UK. As a key member of our Events and Community Fundraising team, you will play a critical role in delivering our flagship walking event, March for Men, and supporting the growth of our Third-Party programme of walking, running, and cycling activities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the growth strategy and delivery of March for Men, including developing a robust marketing plan and ensuring all stakeholders meet their responsibilities and deadlines.
- Manage and work with an external delivery partner to ensure the event is delivered to the highest possible standard.
- Support the Assistant Head of Events and Community Fundraising to maximize income from our Third-Party programme.
- Line manage members of the team and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase event participation and fundraising income.
- Work closely with other teams within Prostate Cancer UK to support the full calendar of events, including Partnerships fundraising and Volunteer Engagement.
- Collaborate with the Communications directorate to promote events and engage with supporters.
- Experience working in a sporting events team with a background of leading the delivery of large-scale events.
- First-class communication skills and the ability to motivate and inspire for our cause.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize a busy workload and work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to actively role model our values and behaviours and take pride in helping wherever you can in supporting the charity to deliver.
- Proven track record of delivering projects and meeting performance targets.
