Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Technical Support Specialist to join our team at nGeneration. This role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues while providing exceptional customer service to our clients in the Retail and Hospitality sectors.

Deployment Locations:

North West (Note: This position may require travel across the UK and occasional overnight stays).

Experience Level: All levels of experience are welcome to apply.

Desirable Skills:

While prior experience in installing and maintaining EPoS systems is advantageous, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided. Candidates with backgrounds in IT Support, Electronic Equipment Installation, Telecommunications, or similar fields where technical devices are installed and maintained will be considered.

Salary: £27,057 per annum (including on-call supplement)

Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Working Hours: 13-hour shifts on a 3 days on, 3 days off rotation (including weekends and bank holidays).

Essential Requirement: A valid Full UK Manual Driver's License is necessary for this role.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular visits to client sites to install, refurbish, and maintain various technical equipment, including EPoS systems, chip and pin devices, tablets, digital signage, and network devices.
  • Perform on-site equipment swaps to minimize client downtime.
  • Set up Wi-Fi devices and troubleshoot data network cable issues.
  • Resolve technical, hardware, or software problems during site visits, escalating issues as needed.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and obtain client sign-off upon task completion.

Requirements:

  • Experience in EPoS installation within the retail or hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Technical mindset with a logical approach to problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of data network cable fault identification.
  • Prior experience in IT Support, Network Engineering, or Telecommunications is desirable.
