Scottish Ambulance Service – Lead for Clinical Effectiveness in Adult Protection

The Public Protection team is dedicated to providing evidence-based, expert guidance and support to personnel on all aspects of Public Protection within our organization, particularly focusing on Adult Support & Protection. The Clinical Effectiveness Lead for Adult Protection will be responsible for: spearheading service development initiatives; delivering training and educational programs related to Public Protection; conducting audits aimed at improvement; participating in multi-agency meetings and reviews as necessary; and ensuring the highest standards of Adult Protection guidance and support are maintained throughout the organization.

This position carries a national profile, and while the primary focus is on Adult Protection, familiarity with other Public Protection areas such as Gender-Based Violence and Child Protection would be beneficial.

The individual in this role will provide leadership, direction, and expert advice to foster continuous enhancements in service delivery and outcomes for adults at risk of harm who utilize SAS services. This involves collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, to fulfill and surpass statutory and policy obligations in critical areas of Adult Support and Protection, PREVENT, and Gender-Based Violence.

The post holder will ensure that policies, national and local standards, clinical practices, and workforce development in Public Protection are established to guarantee safe, effective, and efficient service delivery, supported by a framework of ongoing quality improvement.

It is essential that candidates are registered professionals (e.g., HCPC, NMC, or SSC) holding a first-level degree and an Adult Protection postgraduate qualification (or are currently pursuing this qualification with a commitment to complete it).
