About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Staff Nurse to join our team at St Catherine's Hospice. As a Palliative Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care to individuals with life-limiting illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, and implement patient care plans using a holistic approach.
  • Take on the role of Nurse Coordinator, leading the nursing team and making decisions regarding symptom management and patient care.
  • Administer prescribed medication and maintain accurate patient records in line with hospice policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, promoting sensitivity and respect.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to discharge planning.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospice policies, procedures, and best practices in palliative care.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse on the NMC register with a minimum of 2 years post-registration experience.
  • Willingness to undertake a Palliative Care Certificate or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a palliative care setting.
  • Basic understanding of drugs commonly used in palliative care and end-of-life care.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively, working flexibly as part of a team.
