Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Housing Support Specialist to join our team at Service Care Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting young people aged 16-24 in achieving independence and transitioning to independent living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess new tenants and allocate beds in accordance with established procedures
  • Provide tenancy support and guidance to residents, ensuring they have the necessary resources to succeed
  • Conduct regular room checks to minimize voids and maintain tenancies
  • Collaborate with external agencies to address risks and ensure the safety of residents
  • Promote resident participation in decision-making processes
  • Conduct health and safety checks and report maintenance issues

Requirements

  • Experience in a customer-facing role, working with diverse groups to support housing and health outcomes
  • Ability to motivate individuals with complex issues, such as substance misuse or mental health challenges
  • Knowledge of Universal Credit, Housing Benefits, and relevant support agencies
  • Flexible approach, with participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota
  • Full driving license and access to a car, with reimbursement for business travel

Contract Details

  • 35 hours per week, with a regular working schedule
  • Out-of-hours on-call rota, with additional payment for on-call duties
  • 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave
  • Competitive hourly rate, inclusive of holiday pay
