Position Overview
Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is pleased to announce an opportunity for a Developmental role for registered Nurses within our Cancer Services. Starting as a Band 5 Nurse, you will collaborate with our expert SACT Nurses and Practice Development Nurses, completing a series of competencies, objectives, and the SACT course, ultimately leading to a permanent Band 6 Specialist SACT Nurse position.

Key Responsibilities
What You Will Do
- Evaluate patients prior to the initiation of therapy.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, and other Cancer/Hematological treatments, providing ongoing support and guidance regarding any complications.
- Assess patients' health and well-being across a diverse and evolving caseload of cancer patients.
- Assist in delivering care tailored to meet the unique health and well-being needs of individuals throughout their cancer treatment journey.
- Contribute to the enhancement and development of Cancer services and participate in service improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications
- Registered nurse with NMC pin.
- Degree (in progress).
- Experience in caring for patients receiving Cytotoxic Chemotherapy or a willingness to undertake training.
- Willingness to complete Intrathecal Chemotherapy checking training.
Desirable Qualifications
- ENB 998 or equivalent.
Essential Experience
- RGN with relevant experience.
- Chemotherapy experience at Band 5 or above.
Desirable Experience
- Oncology/Hematology experience.
Skills and Knowledge
Essential Skills
- IV administration.
- Management of central lines, cannulation, and venepuncture.
- Administration of blood products.
- Venesection.
Special Circumstances
Essential
- Willingness to work across multiple sites.
