Medical Director

We are seeking an exceptional Medical Director to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Elowen, a brand new specialist 24-bed mental health hospital for women. As a Medical Director, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of clinical practice and ensuring optimal clinical outcomes for the people in our care.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Clinical Practice: Oversee the delivery of high-quality clinical care, setting the standard for operational excellence and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards and regulations.
- Ensure Optimal Clinical Outcomes: Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide integrated, whole-person treatment and care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
- Provide Expert Knowledge and Support: Share your expertise and provide guidance and support to the team, ensuring that everyone has the knowledge and skills they need to deliver exceptional care.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure that all aspects of clinical governance are met, including medical appraisals, clinical supervision, case investigation, and case management.
- Leadership and Development: Coach, mentor, and train colleagues to help them develop their skills and achieve their full potential.
- Competitive Salary: £170,000 per year
- Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days plus bank holidays

- Medical Qualification: Fully GMC registered with a relevant medical qualification
- Specialist Register: Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12, and AC Status
- Experience and Knowledge: Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis, with a strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: An accomplished leader and clinician with strong line management and communication skills, experienced in a mental health setting and a multidisciplinary team.
