About the Role

Cygnet Health Care is seeking an exceptional Medical Director - Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Elowen. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality clinical services and ensuring the well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the clinical team and ensure optimal clinical outcomes for patients
  • Develop and implement clinical strategies to improve patient care and services
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated, whole-person treatment and care
  • Ensure quality and compliance with internal and external standards and regulations
  • Coach, mentor, and train colleagues to enhance their skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • Fully GMC registered with a relevant medical qualification
  • Registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12, and AC Status
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis
  • Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity
  • An accomplished leader and clinician with strong line management and communication skills
  • Experienced within a mental health setting and a multidisciplinary team
  • Knowledgeable of all aspects of clinical governance
  • Skilled in medical appraisals, clinical supervision, case investigation, and case management
  • A member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent
