Devon, United Kingdom Devon County Council Full time

Location: Exeter based

We are looking for an Early Years Education Assistant to become a vital part of our dynamic Early Years team within our highly regarded nurseries. This role is perfect for individuals with relevant experience in nurturing young children and a passion for fostering their educational growth.

Our nurseries cater to children aged two to four years, playing a crucial role in their preparation for primary education and beyond. You will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including a generous pension scheme, health benefits, a cycle-to-work program, and subsidized meals prepared by our talented chefs in our staff café.

As a member of our team, you will collaborate closely with EYFS Teachers and Deputy Nursery Leaders to support children across all areas of the Early Years curriculum. You will be part of a large EYFS team that spans our schools, working together to deliver high-quality Early Years provision. You will assist in planning and resourcing activities and will be trained in the ReadWrite Inc scheme for teaching Early Reading and Phonics.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing the progress of a designated group of key worker children, maintaining regular communication with parents through both online and in-person meetings to discuss their child's development. Additionally, you will be tasked with maintaining pupil records and performing various administrative duties to support the teaching staff.

Relevant experience and qualifications in working with children are essential. A commitment to ongoing professional development and familiarity with the latest EYFS curriculum developments is expected.

Our nurseries offer wrap-around care, operating throughout the year to accommodate parents needing childcare outside of term time. With newly furnished facilities and excellent resources for both indoor and outdoor learning, our nurseries provide a strong foundation for children's education, benefiting from access to the main school's dining facilities, library, and outdoor spaces. Our schools are known for their innovative and technology-rich environments.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working term time only (40 weeks). The salary for this role starts at approximately £21,000 pro rata, depending on age and experience, with the actual salary based on hours worked commencing around £20,700 per annum.

We look forward to receiving your application and hopefully welcoming you as part of our recruitment process.

Please note that this position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order, meaning certain convictions and cautions are considered 'protected' and do not need to be disclosed to employers. An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check is required for all positions. We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, expecting all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
