Devon, United Kingdom Devon County Council Full time

Location: Exeter

We are looking for an enthusiastic Early Years Educational Support Assistant to become a vital part of our dynamic Early Years team within our esteemed nurseries. This role is ideal for individuals with relevant experience in nurturing young children and a passion for facilitating their educational journey.

Our nurseries cater to children aged two to four years, playing a crucial role in preparing them for their transition into primary education. As part of our commitment to staff welfare, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a generous pension scheme, health benefits, a cycle-to-work initiative, and subsidized meals prepared by our talented chefs.

Successful candidates will receive advanced IT equipment to assist in their responsibilities and will benefit from ongoing professional development opportunities through training and a robust performance management system, which includes potential bonuses for outstanding performance.

In collaboration with our EYFS Teachers and Deputy Nursery Leaders, you will support children across all areas of the Early Years curriculum. You will work as part of a large EYFS team across our network of schools, ensuring the delivery of high-quality Early Years provision. Familiarity with the ReadWrite Inc scheme for teaching Early Reading and Phonics is essential, as training will be provided to implement this approach effectively.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing the progress of a designated group of key worker children, maintaining regular communication with parents through both online and in-person meetings to discuss their child's development. Additionally, you will manage pupil records and undertake various administrative tasks to support the teaching staff.

Relevant experience and qualifications in working with children are required. A willingness to engage in continuous professional development and stay updated with the latest EYFS curriculum developments is essential.

Our nurseries offer wrap-around care, including before and after school sessions, and are open year-round for families needing childcare outside of term time. The facilities are newly furnished, equipped with excellent resources for both indoor and outdoor learning, ensuring a strong foundation for children's education. Our schools are innovative and rich in technology, providing a stimulating environment for both staff and children.

This is a permanent, full-time position, term-time only (40 weeks), with a salary starting at approximately £21,000 pro rata, depending on experience and qualifications. The actual salary, based on hours worked (40 out of 52 weeks), will be around £20,700 per annum.

We look forward to your application and the opportunity to discuss your potential contribution to our team.

Please note that this position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. We are dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
