About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced New Business Account Handler to join our team at Howden Insurance Brokers Ltd. As a key member of our Motor Trade Insurance team, you will be responsible for developing and executing business growth strategies to drive new business opportunities and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and generate new business leads through effective networking and relationship-building with clients and partners.
  • Develop and implement business growth strategies to achieve new business targets and revenue growth.
  • Liaise with the Account Executive to ensure effective communication and collaboration to win new business.
  • Undertake market research to establish competitive terms and ensure premiums are collected in line with procedures.
  • Record all relevant information, correspondence, and documentation on our systems and make effective use of our diary system.
  • Produce accurate and professional documentation using relevant templates.
  • Actively cross-sell products from other divisions to drive revenue growth.
  • Refer all queries that fall outside your experience, knowledge, and authority to senior staff.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in providing specialist advice in the insurance market.
  • Cert CII.
  • Good level of technical insurance skills, to be assessed by regular in-house testing.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to process work quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent client service skills.
  • Good negotiation and broking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to gather and analyse information from the client.
  • Ability to identify and respond appropriately to an individual client's level of understanding.
  • Ability to persuade and influence others.
