Spencer Clarke Group is collaborating with a Local Authority to recruit a Housing Support and Prevention Specialist for their Homelessness Service.
Contract Duration: 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid / Remote options available.
Employment Type: Full Time (35 Hours Per Week)
Compensation: £16 - £20 per hour, with negotiable rates for candidates with extensive experience.
Role Overview:
The Housing Support and Prevention Specialist will deliver essential support to individuals and families facing the threat of homelessness. This position entails evaluating needs, implementing prevention strategies, and facilitating access to necessary services to ensure long-term housing solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial evaluations to assess urgency and prioritize cases effectively.
- Act as the primary contact for housing assistance inquiries.
- Formulate prevention strategies to assist clients in retaining their housing.
- Provide housing guidance and mediate to avert eviction situations.
- Manage a diverse caseload, develop tailored housing plans, and maintain precise documentation.
- Collaborate with local authorities and partner organizations to coordinate client support.
- Refer clients to appropriate services and participate in multi-agency discussions.
- Offer current information on housing rights and welfare benefits.
- Advocate for clients within the housing framework.
Required Experience and Knowledge:
- Proven experience in Homelessness Prevention.
- In-depth understanding of housing legislation and welfare benefits.
- Experience in triaging homelessness cases.
