The Opportunity: Group Risk Management Strategist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Risk Management Strategist to join our dedicated team. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on L&G's strategic direction by contributing to the management of market risks across the organization.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with business units to analyze and understand their market risk exposures.
  • Develop robust risk management frameworks and investment strategies that align with L&G's overall objectives.
  • Provide insightful recommendations to senior stakeholders on risk mitigation and capital allocation.
  • Support key proposals presented at Group ALCO meetings, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the associated risks and opportunities.
  • Continuously enhance Group Risk Management's data and system capabilities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with the 2nd line Group Risk Team to ensure effective oversight and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Your Qualifications:

  • Qualified Actuary, Accountant, or investment professional with a strong understanding of financial markets.
  • In-depth knowledge of SII, IFRS, liquidity risk management, and hedging instruments.
  • Proven programming skills in Python or R to analyze complex data sets and develop sophisticated models.
  • Experience in insurance and investment functions, balance sheet risk management, and effective stakeholder communication.
