Position Overview

Join the Estates and Facilities Department at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Trust as a Security Support Officer.

In this role, you will be tasked with executing a variety of security-related responsibilities in accordance with established protocols and standards. You should possess the ability to exercise initiative while consistently upholding a professional demeanor. The work schedule will involve a 12-hour shift rotation that includes days, nights, and weekends. This is a flexible position requiring work across multiple hospital locations.

Qualifications and Skills

Required

  • Strong General Education
  • Demonstrated experience in security roles
  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently
  • Proficient negotiation skills
  • Experience managing conflict and aggression
  • Capacity to use initiative effectively
  • Competence in dealing with the public, including addressing concerns with fairness and firmness
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing job requirements and locations
  • Customer-focused approach, particularly towards patients and visitors
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic IT proficiency
  • Understanding of transportation and parking options

Preferred

  • SIA badges - Front line security or Door Supervisor Qualification
  • Experience in an NHS environment
  • Background in a busy parking setting
  • Training in Conflict Resolution & Physical Intervention
  • SIA license for Public Space Surveillance CCTV badge
  • Valid UK driving license
  • Security-related qualifications
