About the Role

Canon UK is in search of a dedicated Strategic Finance Partner who will collaborate closely with the designated Business Unit Head or Channel Director. Your role will be pivotal in executing their business strategy by delivering financial guidance, analysis, and insights into operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to enhance the financial performance of the relevant Business Unit or Channel
  • Ensure accurate financial treatment and recording of revenues and expenses for the designated business area, driving ongoing improvements in the month-end process for timely submissions
  • Generate precise and timely reports and commentary to assist the Business Unit Head or Channel Director in understanding current business performance
  • Coordinate the preparation of bi-annual budgets and monthly sales forecasts for the relevant business area
  • Recommend actions to enhance profitability in the designated business area and monitor progress
  • Conduct scenario analysis and modeling to support informed decision-making
  • Ensure adherence to Canon's accounting policies, assist in the audit process, and promote the continuous development of SOX controls
  • Act as a deputy for the Business Unit Controller when necessary
  • Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA) is preferred
  • Advanced skills in Excel modeling
  • Experience with various IT systems such as Oracle, Hyperion, and Essbase is advantageous
  • Prior experience in a Commercial Finance or business partnering role with a proven track record of success
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset

This position entails a commitment of 37.5 hours across 5 days. The role is primarily office-based, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week. Job sharing arrangements may also be considered.
