Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with extensive laboratory experience, particularly in Quality and Clinical Governance.

  • A key role in leading and coordinating the comprehensive integration of quality management across all Histology teams at both locations. A strong background in Clinical Governance and patient safety is preferred, along with the capability to deliver training to diverse staff members.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Clinical Governance, patient safety, and quality assurance.
  • Responsibilities include training and mentoring junior staff, trainee BMS staff, and apprentices, as well as contributing to the development of the scientific team.
  • Gain insights into laboratory management within a private laboratory setting, balancing the needs of customers, patients, staff, and stakeholders—valuable exposure for those aspiring to progress in management roles.

A structured training plan will be established, with objectives aligned to business goals, including dissection of at least two specialisms up to category E.

In addition to technical expertise, you will share responsibility with current team members for coordinating and planning departmental training, as well as achieving our quality objectives.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, focused, realistic, eager to learn, a team player, an effective communicator, and demonstrate excellent standards of conduct while exhibiting leadership qualities.

Qualifications:

HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with experience at band 7 level or above in cellular pathology/Histopathology.
