We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team as a Team Leader in Clinical Biochemistry. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Biomedical Scientists, ensuring the provision of a high-quality analytical service that meets nationally accepted standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of Biomedical Scientists, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with laboratory policies and procedures.
- Supervise and participate in the examination of clinical specimens, ensuring accurate and timely results.
- Provide technical and scientific advice to healthcare professionals, including interpretation of laboratory investigations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new equipment and procedures within the department.
- Monitor internal and external quality control results, taking appropriate action to identify and correct problems.
- Ensure adequate levels of consumable supplies and other items required by the section are maintained.
- State Registered BMS (HCPC) with completion of the IBMS Specialist Portfolio or equivalent.
- MSc or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Management qualification or relevant equivalent experience and short courses.
- Up-to-date knowledge of technical processes used within the discipline.
- Ability to demonstrate good team-building and leadership skills.
- Significant post-registration experience with demonstration of skill at specialist level.
