Mentor Role at Wakefield Council

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled mentor to enhance the educational experience of students within Wakefield Council. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in tracking student development, assisting individual learners, and fostering positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track student development and maintain comprehensive records
  • Contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare
  • Assist students in overcoming educational challenges
  • Provide mentorship to vulnerable students and participate in relevant meetings
  • Build effective working relationships with students
  • Assess and evaluate student engagement with learning activities
  • Maintain and update records as necessary
  • Complete safeguarding training and be an active member of the safeguarding team

Qualifications:

  • GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) at grade C or above
  • Proven experience in inspiring and guiding young individuals
  • Familiarity with pertinent policies and regulations
  • Excellent literacy, numeracy, organizational, and planning abilities
