Glasgow, Glasgow City, United Kingdom NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Full time

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde stands as one of the largest healthcare providers in the UK, employing approximately 40,000 individuals across various clinical and non-clinical roles. Our organization is dedicated to delivering comprehensive healthcare services, including acute hospital care, primary care, community services, and mental health support to a diverse population.

As part of our commitment to enhancing work-life balance, NHS Scotland is transitioning to a reduced full-time working week of 37 hours, effective from April 2024, without altering pay. This change will also apply proportionately to part-time staff. While this initiative is being implemented, some service areas may require temporary adjustments to working hours.

We are currently seeking applications for the position of MRI Lead Radiographer within our North East Radiology team. This role is based at a key facility, with opportunities for rotation to other locations as necessary.

This position presents an exciting opportunity for a qualified, motivated, and passionate professional to oversee MRI Imaging Services. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the management team to enhance and deliver a patient-centered service. Strong interpersonal skills are essential for facilitating education and training within the department.

The role involves leading the development and implementation of clinical and professional standards, with a strong focus on providing exceptional patient care. Candidates will have the opportunity to expand their clinical expertise while also honing their management and leadership capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Daily management of the MRI department.
  • Acting as the professional lead for the MRI modality.
  • Undertaking additional management duties as part of the broader Modality Lead team.

Collaboration with local educational institutions is crucial to foster an innovative learning environment for undergraduate and postgraduate students during their placements. We are committed to supporting the development of our staff and enhancing their skills.

Our North East sector is equipped with three MRI scanners, and this role will be pivotal in advancing our services further.

Successful candidates will benefit from a structured training and induction program designed to facilitate their integration into the team.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion within our workforce, encouraging applications from all community sectors.

We are proud to be a Forces Friendly Employer, recognizing and valuing the skills and experiences of the Armed Forces Community during our recruitment process.
