Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to enhance our Construction division.

Location: Crawley

Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Estimator, you will play a crucial role in generating profitable bids for approval and submission, aiming to optimize our order pipeline and convert it into market share, revenue, and operating profit for the business unit. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the development of tenders by proposing costs and estimating resources for various projects.
  • Leading and inspiring the estimating team to adhere to best practices.
  • Engaging in contract acquisition while minimizing risks and maximizing profitability through precise cost estimation, supplier negotiations, and value engineering support.
  • Participating in the comprehensive process of assessing, preparing, validating, adjudicating, and finalizing tender submissions, focusing on reducing subcontractor and material expenses while collaborating with design, planning, commercial, and bid management teams.
  • Estimating costs to meet or surpass client expectations, including sourcing and negotiating quotes.
  • Building and maintaining strong commercial relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the tendering and fulfillment phases.

Candidate Profile

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess construction estimating experience, preferably with a Tier 1 contractor.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience in our project portfolio with a solid understanding of technical construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
  • Exceptional research, proposal writing, and oral presentation capabilities.
  • Experience with both Single and Two Stage Tendering processes.
