Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Estimator, your primary role will be to facilitate the creation of profitable bids for approval and submission, aiming to optimize the order pipeline and its transformation into market share, revenue, and operational profit within the business unit. You will be responsible for estimating project costs, identifying contractual, financial, technical, and operational risks, and uncovering opportunities to mitigate risks while maximizing gross profit. Your efforts will ensure the successful delivery of contracts safely, punctually, and to the required quality standards, all while enhancing gross profit and customer satisfaction.
Specific Duties Include:
- Contributing to the preparation of tenders by proposing costs and estimating resources for various projects.
- Leading, managing, and inspiring the estimating team on projects through the promotion of best practices.
- Engaging in the acquisition of contracts while minimizing risks and maximizing profits by accurately estimating costs for tenders, negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors, and supporting value engineering initiatives.
- Participating in the assessment, preparation, validation, adjudication, and final submission of tenders, which includes minimizing subcontractor and material costs and collaborating with design, planning, commercial, and bid management teams.
- Estimating costs to meet or exceed client expectations, including obtaining and negotiating quotes.
- Building and maintaining commercial relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors throughout the tendering and fulfillment processes.
Candidate Profile:
To qualify for this position, candidates should possess construction estimating experience, preferably with a Tier 1 contractor.
Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Proven experience in our range of projects with a solid understanding of technical construction.
- Extensive knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
- Exceptional research, proposal writing, and oral presentation abilities.
- Experience in both Single and Two Stage Tendering processes.
